L+WA are delighted that Planning Permission has been granted for this replacement dwelling on a riverside site near Costessey, Norwich.

The proposed dwelling is relatively compact in relation to the plot size and makes reference to the scale of the existing dwelling.

Replacement contemporary dwellings on rural sites continue to be a significant aspect of our work.

We are delighted to see that this replacement dwelling is progressing so well towards completion

L+WA has secured these two Planning Permissions over the past two days

A replacement dwelling at Wicklewood, near Wymondham. The proposed 2-storey house continues our exploration of rural and agricultural forms for new houses in the Norfolk countryside. The building will largely be faced with black profiled cladding. The existing bungalow will mostly be retained, re-clad and converted into the garage block.

A glass garden room extension at a Grade II Listed farmhouse near Hingham. The addition will help to connect the house and remodelled living area to the terrific and unique setting. Contemporary additions to old buildings continue to be a key aspect of L+WA’s work.

One of our projects, the Writers’ Centre, has been included as part of a programme on BBC Radio 4. Described as an “extraordinary building” the new National Centre for Writing was discussed on the Sunday evening ‘Front Row’ programme, along with other Norwich literary buildings.
