Our Matt Wood and John Western gave good reports of Pecha Kucha Norwich #2 which took place at Cinema City on Sunday night. The first PK Night took place as part of the Festival of Architecture in Norfolk and Norwich (FANN-XI) last September – read more here – and is set to become a regular feature of the Norwich creative scene.
The architects on Sundays bill included Norwich’s own Anthony Hudson and London-based David Kohn, but John and Matt particularly enjoyed presentations from other disciplines – which is really the whole point of Pecha Kucha. These included graphic designers Gareth Bayliss and Paul Flack, custom cycle builder Tom Donhou, and the owner of Flint hair studio Conor O’Brien talking about their visual identity, devised by design-studio Bibliotheque.
The bar at Cinema City was packed for the event, organised by architect Jason Bill and designer Rachel Codling…which bodes well for PK Norwich #3, which we understand is scheduled for April 22nd (more details when available on the PKN Norwich website)
