Our Matt enjoyed his day out as a ‘Green Dragon’ at the Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary last week, partly because as an architect it’s always nice to visit one of your own buildings in use, but mainly because of the range and quality of the seven presentations that the panel had to judge – and it was a tough decision.

After a lengthy debate the first prize went to The Limecrete Company of Attleborough, for their pioneering work with sprayed ‘hempcrete’, a mixture of chopped hemp stalks and lime-cement which can be used as the main walling material on buildings up to three storeys, as an ultra-low-carbon alternative to conventional concrete blocks.

For a more information on the event and information about the other six finalists see Matt’s piece on the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce website.
